Obituary for David Wayne May

Mr. David Wayne May, age 47, of Covington, died Monday, May 21, 2018, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Roanoke. He was the husband of Laurie McCauley May.
Mr. May was born August 5, 1970 in Alleghany County, the son of Patty Jean May Vail and step father, Wayne. A lifetime resident of this community, he was employed as an electrician by Richardson-Wayland. David was of the Christian faith. He was a member of Division Ridge Hunt Club.
In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. May is survived by two daughters, Ashli Dawn May and Brittney Michelle May; one granddaughter, Kaydence Marie Jessee; a grandmother, Catherine Graham May of Covington; a grandfather, George May and wife, Verna of White Sulphur Springs, WV; a sister, Amie Michelle Hazelwood of Martin, TN; a stepsister, Amy Carol Vail and Charles Hoover of White Sulphur Springs, WV; two stepbrothers, Lenny Vail and wife, Wendy of Covington and Travis Vail and wife, Sabrina of Covington; four aunts including his aunt, Sharon Bradley, who was reared in the home; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Michael and Kathy McCauley; four brothers-in-laws; two sister-in-laws; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins including Austin Bradley whom he reared as a son; and special friend, Ty Reynolds.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 25, 2018, from the Chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Carl “Shorty” Wolfe officiating. Interment will follow in Johnson Creek Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers are David McCauley, Hunter McCauley, Bobby O'Conner, Austin Bradley, Tyler Jessee,and Ellis Tucker.
The family will receive friends on Friday afternoon from 12:00 noon until time of service.
