Obituary for Marilyn Gaye Kidd

Ms. Marilyn Gaye Kidd, of Covington, died Friday, October 6, 2017, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Roanoke.
Ms. Kidd was born in Covington, the daughter of the late Lou Homer Kidd and Pearl McMann Kidd. A lifetime resident of this area, she was employed by MeadWestvaco until her retirement. Ms. Kidd was a member of the Business and Professional Women’s Club. She was a member of Palestine Presbyterian Church and First Presbyterian Church. Ms. Kidd enjoyed traveling, golfing, snow skiing and tennis, but most of all, she enjoyed her two favorite things which were garden tomatoes and chocolate cream pie.
Ms. Kidd is survived by a sister, Patricia Kidd Hawley of Roanoke; an aunt, Irene McMann; a cousin, Doreen Clements; and a godchild, Krystal Roach.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Kidd was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Homer Kidd in 1969.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 10, 2017, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon from 12:30 P.M. until time of service at Loving Funeral Home.
The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the First Presbyterian Church, 185 Maple Avenue, Covington, VA 24426.
