Obituary for Virginia Lynn "Jenny" Sizemore

Virginia L. “Jenny” Sizemore, of Covington, died April 3, 2017, at the Peyton House Hospice Care in Lewisburg, WV following a brief illness. She will gloriously celebrate her 90th birthday in Heaven on July 27 with her husband, Leo and son, David, who preceded her in death, as well as her parents, Charles and Elsie Lynn and her brother, Bill.
Virginia was a graduate of Covington High School and retired from McCaleb & Wayland, Inc. in 1992. She enjoyed reading, gardening, traveling and loved dearly being a wife, mother and Mawmaw. She was an active member of McAllister Memorial Presbyterian Church, where she was a member of Circle #1, Happy Fellowship Sunday School Class and served as a former Treasurer and Historian of the Women of the Church.
She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Julie (Tommy) Williamson; grandson, Jacob Sizemore; granddaughters, Lillie and Kathryn Williamson, all of Apex, NC; three sisters, Sarah Mays, Mary Whitehead and Phyllis Lynn; brother, David Lynn, all of Clifton Forge. She is also survived by nephews, Mike (Judy) Whitehead of Roanoke, Joe (Brenda) Whitehead of Greenville; niece, Linda (Billy) Rice of Wytheville; and a number of great nieces and nephews and great- great nieces and nephews.
All who knew Virginia will surely miss her sweet smile, gentle spirit, love of life and especially her abundant love for others.
There will be a graveside service at Alleghany Memorial Park at 1 PM on Saturday, April 8. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11AM to 12:30PM in the chapel of Loving Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Joe Whitehead, Mike Whitehead, Billy Rice, Tommy Williamson, Jr., Jacob Sizemore and David Wilkinson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to McAllister Memorial Presbyterian Church, 900 N. Alleghany Avenue, Covington, VA 24426 or the Presbyterian Children’s Home of the Highlands, 425 Grayson Road #5, Wytheville VA, 24382.
