Mrs. Sarah Shires Bostic Young, age 75, of 611 Addams Street, died Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at Alleghany Regional Hospital, Low Moor.  She was preceded in death by her first husband, Elwood T. Bostic and her second husband, Rev. John LeRoy Young, Jr.

                Mrs. Young was born August 14, 1934 in Ronceverte, WV, the daughter of the late Omer Earl Shires, Sr. and Nina Hefner Shires. 

                A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, January 9, 2010, at Granbery Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Barry Throckmorton officiating.  Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

                The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Granbery Memorial United Methodist Church and at other times at the residence, 611 Addams Street, Covington.
