Ruby Graham

                Mrs. Ruby Ann Ward Graham, age 95, of 546 E. Prospect Walk, Clifton Forge, formerly of Ogles Creek until 2001, died Saturday, October 17, 2009.  She was the wife of the late Calvin Lewis Graham.

                Mrs. Graham was born August 7, 1914 in Hix, WV, the daughter of the late Matthew Ward and Felisha Mae Berry Ward.  She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, canning and going fishing.  Mrs. Graham was a member of United Baptist Church.

                Mrs. Graham is survived by four daughters, Catherine May,  Jeanette Poage and husband, Jimmy of Covington, Bonnie Graham of Bryan’s Road, MD, Dolly Miller and husband, Freddie of Nanjemoy, MD; three sons, Eldridge Graham and wife, Cora, William Graham and friend, Sheila Harmon and Gary Graham, all of Covington; grandchildren she reared in her home, Evelyn Bratton, Billy Joe Phillips, Matthew Phillips, Cindy  Phillips and Calvin Phillips; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great- great grandchildren; three sisters, Felisha Hamm of Cleveland, OH, Gladys Flenchman of Christiansburg, Maddie Richmond of Chestnut Mtn., WV; two brothers, Lloyd Ward of Hix, WV and Jimmy Ward and wife, Susan of Roanoke; a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins; special friends and caregivers,  Calvin and Lula Phillips, Julie Trentine and the staff of Mountain Regional Hospice.

                In addition to her parents, Matthew Ward and Felisha Mae Berry Ward, and her husband, Calvin Lewis Graham, Mrs. Graham was preceded in death by two daughters, Marie O’Conner and husband, Charles and Judy Phillips and husband, Billy; three grandsons, George May, Jr., Wilbur O’Conner, and Ellis Wayne Phillips; one granddaughter, Melissa Slush; two sisters, Sadie Ward, Lydia Albert; four brothers, Frank Ward, Sgt Harden Ward, Willis Ward, and infant, Joseph Ward.

                A funeral service will be conducted at 6:00 P.M. Monday, October 19, 2009, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Gilliland officiating. 

                Interment will be at 12:30 P.M. Tuesday, October 20, 2009 in Graham Cemetery, Hinton, WV.  Those wishing to attend should assemble at Loving Funeral Home at 9:30 A.M.

                Pallbearers will be Jimmy Poage, Wayne Vail, Dale Bratton, Dale Bratton, Sr., Calvin Phillips, and Bobby O’Conner.  Alternate pallbearers will be grandsons.

                The family will receive friends Monday evening following the service at Loving Funeral Home and at other times at the residence of Evelyn Bratton, 314 Craig Avenue, Covington or at the residence of Catherine May’s daughter, Sharon Bradley, 7715 Ogles Creek, Covington.
