Mr. Robert Lawrence Martin, age 73, of Lancaster, died Sunday, October 11, 2009, at his residence.  He was the husband of Deborah Martin.

                Mr. Martin was born October 24, 1935 in Bath County, the son of the late Wilbur Lawrence Martin and Ruby Gill Martin.  He was a retired equipment operator for several different construction companies.  Mr. Martin was a loving husband, father and grandfather. 

                Mr. Martin is survived by three sons, Tommy Martin, Scott Martin, and Shane Timbrooks; four daughters, Zelda Jean Akers, Virginia Wilson, Robyn Miller and Tiffany Wilson; twenty grandchildren, two great grandchildren; one brother, Charles B. Martin and four sisters, Martha Blankenship, Carol Suggs, Pat Henson and Ella Brayden.

                In addition to his parents, Wilbur Lawrence Martin and Ruby Gill Martin, Mr. Martin was preceded in death by two sons, Bobby Martin and John Martin; two brothers, Wilbur L. Martin, Jr. and Joe Martin; and one sister, Linda LaFoon.

                A funeral service will be conducted at 2:30 P.M. Thursday, October 15, 2009, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with the Rev. Chris Poluikis officiating.  Interment will follow in Union Chapel Church Cemetery.

                The family will receive friends on Thursday afternoon from 12:30 P.M. until service time at Loving Funeral Home.
