Mrs. Olivia Abbott Cross, of 8907 Potts Creek Road, died Tuesday, October 27, 2009, at her residence. She was the wife of the late John Donet “Jack” Cross, Jr. Mrs. Cross was born February 11, 1925 in Baltimore, MD, the daughter of the late Lyman Sinclair Abbott and Helen Sederburg Abbott. A resident of this community for twenty years, she was a former employee of the Paint Bank Post Office and currently a homemaker. Mrs. Cross attended Lone Star Baptist Church. She was a member of the America Ex-POW, the Iris Society of America, and the Lutheran Garden Club. Mrs. Cross was an avid reader, loved animals and enjoyed doing crafts. Mrs. Cross is survived by a son, Richard Kern McCown of Biglerville, PA; a daughter, Randi Leigh McCown of Covington; six grandchildren, John Clayton Bartholme, Laura Scott Young, Richard Kern McCown, Sean Lyman McCown, James Andrew McCown and Joseph McCown; three great granddaughters; six great grandsons; a loving niece Christy Bennett. A funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Friday, October 30, 2009, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Earwood officiating. Interment will be at 9:00 A.M.
