Mary Caldwell

                Mrs. Mary Sue Offenbacker Caldwell, age 66, of Roanoke, died Saturday, January 14, 2012, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Roanoke.  Mrs. Caldwell was the wife of David Linwood Caldwell.

                Mrs. Caldwell was born December 2, 1945 in Alleghany County, the daughter of the late John Offenbacker and Alice Vess Offenbacker.  She was employed as a lab technician by Roanoke Memorial Hospital.  Mrs. Caldwell enjoyed taking rides in cars and loved spending time with her family especially at family gatherings.

                In addition to her husband, David Linwood Caldwell, Mrs. Caldwell is survived by one son, Zane Grayson Caldwell; two grandchildren, Reid David Clutter and Reagan Warner Clutter of Port Charlotte, FL; one mother-in-law, Beulah Caldwell Wilcher; two brothers, Jimmy Offenbacker of Thaxton and H.L. Offenbacker of Vinton; one brother-in-law, Elmer Bess; and special friends, Flora Smith, Mavis Craft, Nancy Williams and David Burwell.

                In addition to her parents, John and Alice Vess Offenbacker, Mrs. Caldwell was preceded in death by one sister, Polly O. Bess.

                A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Barry Throckmorton officiating.  

                The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Loving Funeral Home.
