Marion StoneMrs. Marion Christine Wright Stone, age 80, of 426 Lauren Kay Lane, died Monday, May 31, 2010, at the University of Virginia Medical Center, Charlottesville. Mrs. Stone was born July 5, 1929 in Clifton Forge, the daughter of the late Wilbur A. Wright, Sr. and Christine Hepler Wright. A longtime member of this community, she was the valedictorian of her graduating class at Boiling Spring High School and attended Lincoln Memorial University in Harragate, TN. Mrs. Stone was the manager of the former Snak Shak, now known as Kountry Korners, and then was a licensed Property and Casualty Insurance Agent for the former Med Stone Nationwide Insurance Agency from 1959 until 1989. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church and a former member of Boiling Spring Fire and Rescue Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Stone was an accomplished seamstress and excellent cook. Mrs. Stone is survived by a son, John H. Stone and wife, Sheryl of Covington; four daughters, Linda S. Lacy and husband, Paul, III, Christy S. Uzzell and Bill Uzzell, Mary S. Tucker and Frank Tucker, Sandra S. Krochta and husband, Tom, all of Covington; three grandchildren, Amber Marie Uzzell of Roanoke, W. Tyson Uzzell and wife, Tara of Covington, John H. Stone, Jr. of Covington; three step grandchildren, Scott Seldomridge, Beth Seldomridge, Neil Seldomridge; one brother, Charles D. Wright and wife, Judy of Mesa, AZ, two sisters, Elizabeth Janet Wright and Alice Brownlee Wright, both of Mesa, AZ. In addition to her parents, Wilbur A. Wright, Sr. and Christine Hepler Wright, Mrs. Stone was preceded in death by her former husband and the father of her children, Lewis Medford “Med” Stone and one brother, Wilbur A. “Sonny” Wright, Jr. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 4, 2010, from the Chapel of Loving Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Hartsfield officiating. Interment will follow in Lone Star Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tyson Uzzell, John Stone, Jr., Harold “Bucky” Mottern, Gratton Hepler, James R. “Cheez” Smith, and William T. Wilson. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 7:00 P.M. until 8:30 P.M. at Loving Funeral Home and at other times at the residence of Linda and Paul Lacy, 610 Midland Trail, in Rosedale.
