  Kathryn Faudree

               Mrs. Kathryn Moore Faudree, age 99, of 1503 S. Franklin Avenue, died Monday, September 28, 2009, at her residence.  She was the wife of the late Bervie Raymond Faudree.
                Mrs. Faudree was born June 9, 1910 in Stony Bottom, WV, the daughter of the late Ellis Matrona Moore and Eva Meeks Moore.  She had been a resident of the Covington area since 1930. 
               Mrs. Faudree was a former employee of the Industrial Rayon Corporation where she worked in the knitting and coneing department and was a former employee of Rooklin’s and Leggett’s Department Stores.  
              Mrs. Faudree was a member of Granbery Memorial United Methodist Church and had attended Faith Baptist Church, a charter member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Covington Fire & Rescue Squad, a member and past president of Covington VFW Post 1033 Ladies Auxiliary, a member of the Women of the Moose, and had been active in the local American Red Cross chapter and was an instructor for Ladies Home Nursing Classes. 
               She and her husband loved to dance and very seldom missed an opportunity to do the “Shag”. 
               She loved camping and fishing with the grandchildren and enjoyed gardening, flowers, and loved to travel. 
                She enjoyed all kinds of music especially when her grandsons were playing.
                Mrs. Faudree is survived by her daughter, Linda K. Fox and husband, Johnny of Covington; one son, Bill Moore, Sr. and wife, Maude of Stony Bottom, WV; one brother, Floyd E. Moore of Sebring, FL; one sister-in-law, Mary Moore of Max Meadows, VA; eight grandchildren, William E. Moore, Jr., James Talmadge “Tinker” Broughman, II,  Brandon Wayne Broughman, Brian Keith Broughman, Jared Allen Hayslett, Ronald Fox, Christopher Fox, and  Stephen T. Fox; eleven great grandchildren, William E. Moore, III, William Simmons, Aaron Simmons, James Talmadge “Trey” Broughman, III, Brandi Taliaferro, Brandon Taylor Broughman, Raymond Alston Broughman, Chandler Fox, Cameron Fox, Allison Fox, Brody Fox; two great-great grandchildren, Brooke Ann Simmons and Caleb Simmons. Also surviving are her “other daughter”, Lynda Gail Jennings; a number of nieces and nephews; and special friends, Pete & Mary Broughman and Joyce Jones.
                In addition to her parents, Ellis Matrona Moore and Eva Meeks Moore, and her husband, Bervie Raymond Faudree, Mrs. Faudree was preceded in death by eight siblings, Lloyd Moore, Dewey “Sam” Moore, Vera Andres, Jesse Moore, Okey Moore, Delbert Moore, infants, Mamie Moore and Genevieve Moore; a granddaughter, Nancy Moore Simmons.
                A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Friday, October 2, 2009, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with the Rev. John Burnham officiating, assisted by the Chaplin of the Covington Rescue Squad, Bob McCallister.  Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park.
                Graveside rites will be conducted by the Covington Fire & Rescue Squad.
                Pallbearers will be Bob McCallister, Richard Baker, Richard “Huck” Tyree, G.C. Fawley, Percy Caldwell, David Crosier, Jerry Burks, and Donald Heironimus.
                The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 7:00 P.M. until 8:30 P.M. at Loving Funeral Home.
