Mr. Junior Lewis Gaines, age 75, of 1750 Summit Drive, died Thursday November 24, 2011, at his residence. He was the husband of Cassie Mae Whitley Gaines.

      Mr. Gaines was born May 19, 1936 in Alleghany County, the son of Everette Lewis Gaines and Luella Tucker Gaines. He worked as a truck driver for Byer, Harmon and Johnson and D.D. Kerns before his retirement. He enjoyed the outdoors, logging, riding his horses, and took great pride in his yard. Mr. Gaines was a member of Boiling Spring Bible Church.

      In addition to His wife of 28 years, he is survived by three step-children, Zellie Bunn, Angela Bunn, and Rachel Bunn; seven step- grandchildren; one nephew, Randy Gaines; three nieces, Mary Halterman, Lula Phillips and Linda Gaines; and a host of family and friends.

      In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Roger A. Gaines and Claude D. Gaines.

      A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P. M. Sunday from the Chapel Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Nancy Hubbard officiating. Interment will follow in Lone Star Cemetery.

      Pallbearers will be Calvin Phillips, David Via, William Brock, Troy Moore, Michael Brock, and Justin Moore.  Alternates will be Matthew Phillips, Jr. and John Halterman, III.

     The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 7:00 PM until 8:30 PM at Loving Funeral Home.
