Juanita Hicks

                Mrs. Juanita Eileen Sarver Hicks, age 89, of Covington, died Sunday, December 11, 2011, at Our Lady of the Valley, Roanoke.  She was the wife of the late Harry Winstard Hicks.

                Mrs. Hicks was born January 16, 1922 in Bluefield, WV, the daughter of the late Albert Cloyd Sarver and Sylvia Williams Sarver.  She was employed by the former Super X Drugs before her retirement.  Mrs. Hicks was a member of South Covington United Methodist Church where she was very active in the church and served as a Sunday school teacher.

                Mrs. Hicks is survived by one son, Jeffrey Hicks and wife, Diane of Covington; one daughter, Suzanne H. Casey of Roanoke; four grandchildren, Shannon C. Williams and husband, James of Fredericksburg, Sara C. Quesinberry and husband, Gabriel of Ashville, NC; Casey S. Hicks and Courtney of Roanoke; and Kayleigh E. Hicks of Winchester; three great grandchildren, Nicole Quesinberry, Tyler Quesinberry and Whit Williams; and a number of nieces and nephews.

                Mrs. Hicks was preceded in death by one sister, Billie S. Rose.

                A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, December 15, 2011, at South Covington United Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles Cole officiating.  Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

                Pallbearers will be Casey Hicks, Gabe Quesinberry, James Williams, Randy Rose, Rick Smith and Ronnie Black.

                The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Loving Funeral Home.

                The family suggests that memorial tributes may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
