Jean Catlett Mrs. Jean Phillips Catlett, age 71, of 206 E. Madison Street, died Saturday, September 25, 2010, at her residence. She was the wife of George Franklin Catlett, Sr. who preceded her in death in 1999. Mrs. Catlett was born November 18, 1938 in Nicholson, PA, the daughter of the late Grady Cecil Phillips and Edith Lowe Phillips. She was a former employee of Stanley Nichols Car Dealership and was an office manager at Bacova Guild at her retirement. Mrs. Catlett was a member of McAllister Memorial Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed making stained glass and gardening. Mrs. Catlett is survived by two sons, George F. Catlett, Jr. and wife, Mollie of Covington and Ricky Lee and wife, Debbie of Covington; three grandchildren, Jacob Catlett, Ricky Lee, Jr. and Jeana Lee of Raleigh, NC; a sister, Helen Reynolds of Covington; special friends, Jo Ann and James Ralsten; and beloved dog, Pooh. In addition to her parents, Grady Cecil Phillips and Edith Lowe Phillips and her husband, George Franklin Catlett, Sr., Mrs. Catlett was preceded in death by a brother, Kenny Phillips. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Mountain Regional Hospice, P.O. Box 637, Clifton Forge, VA 24422.
