Hazel Reed

                Mrs. Hazel Keith Reed, age 95, formerly of Covington, died Wednesday, December 9, 2009, at the Brian Center Nursing Care, Low Moor.  She was the wife of the late L.C. Reed.

                Mrs. Reed was born March 17, 1914 in West Virginia, the daughter of the late James Owen Keith and Eliza Keith.  She was the owner and operator of the Greenmill Restaurant for thirty years and was a former employee of Boy’s Home.  Mrs. Reed was a member of Johnson Creek Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church and attended Good News Fellowship Church.  Mrs. Reed especially enjoyed helping and serving others in her community.  She loved cooking, gardening and flowers. 

                Mrs. Reed is survived by five grandchildren, Kenny Armentrout and wife, Barbara, Dennis Armentrout and wife, Terri, Vickie Chalker; Cleveland Armentrout and wife, Lisa, David Armentrout and wife, Doris; ten great grandchildren, J.C. Armentrout, Jeremiah Armentrout, Jacob Armentrout, Mark Poage, Amy Self and husband, Wayne, Jenny Wilson and husband, Bret, Alisha Stewart, Scarlet Bell, Bradley David Armentrout, Bink Armentrout; several great- great grandchildren; and one sister, Oletha Gadd of Covington.

                In addition to her parents, James Owen Keith and Eliza Keith, and her husband, L.C. Reed, Mrs. Reed was preceded in death by one daughter, Virgie Reed Armentrout; one sister and four brothers.

                A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 15, 2009, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Noel officiating.  Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Mark Poage, Jeremiah Armentrout, J.C. Armentrout, Jacob Armentrout, Clyde Rose, J.W. Tingler and John Tingler.  Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Self, Bret Wilson, and family and friends attending the service.

The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 7:00 P.M. until 8:30 P.M. at Loving Funeral Home and at other times at the residence of Kenny and Barbara Armentrout, 109 Indian Valley Road, Covington and Dennis and Terri Armentrout, Jacob Street, Covington.
