Garland Montgomery Mr. Garland Allard Montgomery, age 65, of 1906 Mallow Road, died Wednesday, March 30, 2011, at his residence. He was the husband of Juanita Campbell Montgomery. Mr. Montgomery was born January 16, 1946 in Clifton Forge, to Garland Allard and Eck Morris Allard and was adopted at an early age by Pete and Lillian Montgomery. A lifetime resident of this community, he was employed as a worker in an automobile parts manufacturing plant for thirty nine and half years, retiring in 2004. Mr. Montgomery was a member of Faith Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, Juanita Campbell Montgomery, Mr. Montgomery is survived by a son, Steven C. Montgomery of Covington; four brothers, Gene Allard, Jerry Allard, James Allard, all of Covington and Wayne Allard of Roanoke; three sisters, Shirley Beach of Harrisonburg, Rose Enyart of Moneta and Doris Armentrout of Potts Creek; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Garland Allard and Eck Morris Allard, and his adoptive parents, Pete and Lillian Montgomery, Mr. Allard was preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Morris and one sister, Rose Marie Allard. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 2, 2011, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with the Rev. William M. Hartsfield officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends attending the service.
