Elaina HayslettElaina Faith was born March 7, 2002 in Low Moor, the beloved daughter of David Wayne Hayslett and Gabi Hayslett and baby sister of Christopher and Steven Hayslett was finally healed from her courageous battle with a rare genetic disorder called Leukodystrophy and Severe Aortic Valve Stenosis on June 24, 2011. Elaina was known as “Princess Elaina”, Ladybug or Miss Smiles to all who loved her. She was a true inspiration to others throughout her illness. Elaina always SMILED and everyone learned from her what happiness was all about. Elaina loved school and all her teachers and aides. Reading books and listening to music was always her favorite. She loved to be outside on her swing or in her little pool in the summertime. She will be greatly missed and loved by all who knew her and her spirit will live on through her family. In addition to her parents, David and Gabi Hayslett, she is survived by two brothers, Christopher G. Hayslett and Steven W. Hayslett, both of Flatwoods, KY; paternal grandfather, Sidney and Janet Hayslett of Elkton, VA; paternal grandmother, Rose and Jerry Gibson of Covington; and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins. Elaina was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Roswitha and Hans Germer of Germany. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, July 2, 2011 at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church with the Rev. Faith Weedling officiating. You are asked to join the family following the service to share in a balloon release for Elaina and a fellowship dinner.
