  David Spencer

                Mr. David Allen Spencer, age 51, of 504 Mercer Avenue, died Sunday, September 12, 2010, at his residence.

                Mr. Spencer was born February 15, 1959, the son of Hortense Ross Spencer and the late Robert L. Spencer, Sr.  He served his country as a member of the United States Army.  Mr. Spencer was employed as a laborer in the Tool Room by Zachary Construction Company.  He was a member of Pine Street Baptist Church.  Mr. Spencer liked fishing and was a Washington Redskins fan.

                In addition to his mother, Hortense Ross Spencer, Mr. Spencer is survived by six brothers, Glenn C. Spencer of Covington, Robert L. Spencer, Jr. of Covington, Peter F. Spencer of Roanoke, Calvin A. Spencer of Covington, Daniel R. Spencer of Portsmouth, Gary Wayne Spencer of Portsmouth; one sister, Yolanda Spencer of Covington; one aunt, Dorothy Ross; two uncles, Lorenzo Ross and Pearson Ross; one sister-in-law, Virginia Spencer; one niece, two nephews, and cousins.

                In addition to his father, Robert L. Spencer, Sr., Mr. Spencer was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward K. Spencer and Terry Lee Spencer.

                A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, September 17, 2010, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Thomas S. Simmons officiating.
