 Carol Smith

                Mrs. Frances Carol Burley Smith, age 74, of 1527 S. Franklin Avenue, died Wednesday, November 17, 2010, at her residence.  She was the wife of the late Robert Lewis Smith.

                Mrs. Smith was born January 24, 1936 in Covington, the daughter of the late Andrew M. Burley and Blanche E. Dressler.  She was employed as a bookkeeper and manager by Alleghany Motors for a number of years.  She loved being a homemaker and was of the Presbyterian faith.  Mrs. Smith was a past worthy matron of the Martha Chapter #21 Order of the Eastern Star.

                Mrs. Smith is survived by her stepdaughter, Gail Wood and husband, Gene of Covington; two step grandchildren, Robbie Wood and Jenny Wood Crawford and husband, Tommy; her loyal and faithful dog, Gidget; a brother, Earl Burley and wife, Doris of Big Island; a sister, Marion Williams and husband, William of Clifton Forge; and a number of nieces and nephews.

                In addition to her husband, Robert Lewis Smith, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by two sisters, Elois Burley Smith and Dorothy Cauley.

                A graveside service will be conducted at 4:30 P.M. Saturday, November 20, 2010, at Alleghany Memorial Park with the Rev. Jim Giles officiating. 

                The family will receive friends on Saturday afternoon from 3:00 P.M. until service time at Loving Funeral Home.
