Mrs. Annie Maye Davis Jarvis, age 90, of Covington, died Wednesday, January 4, 2012, at the Brian Center-Alleghany, Low Moor.  She was the wife of the late Lester Clyde Jarvis who preceded her in death in 2007.

                Mrs. Jarvis was born May 23, 1921 in East Bend, NC, the daughter of the late Jesse Davis and Wilda Laura Lineberry Davis.  A resident of this community since 1957, she was a homemaker.  Mrs. Jarvis was a member of Covington Baptist Church where she was a former Sunday school teacher, nursery helper and helped with the Girl’s Auxiliary.  She was an avid gardener and enjoyed sewing, crafts, cooking and helping others.

                Mrs. Jarvis is survived by one daughter, Karyl Faye Jarvis Crean of Raleigh, NC; one son, Robert Lester Jarvis; one daughter-in-law, Vicky Lou Watts Jarvis of Whitsett, NC; two granddaughters, Kimberly Willard and Erin Lam; one great grandson, Alexander McGee; five sisters, Roxie Hobson of East Bend, NC, Edith Carter of East Bend, NC, Faye Brown, who was a twin to Mrs. Jarvis, of East Bend, NC, Laura Ruth Wall and husband, Page of Yadkinville, NC and Jessie Raye Smitherman and husband, Jimmie of Pfafftown, NC; and many nieces and nephews.

                Mrs. Jarvis was preceded in death by her son, Clyde Davis Jarvis; one brother and three sisters.

                A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 7, 2011 at Covington Baptist Church with the Rev. Chris Poluikis officiating, assisted by the Rev. Ed Nicholson.  Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park. 

                Pallbearers will be Wayne Grimm, Gerald Franson, Harold Lambert, Gary Wallace, Lem Fitzgerald and Keith Simmons.

                The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Loving Funeral Home.
